Elections

Free elections are an essential part of a democracy, allowing us to determine how we want our country to be governed.

General Elections are a chance for each constituency to vote in a representative for the House of Commons, with the party holding the most seats forming the Government.

In between General Elections, by-elections are held when an individual constituency seat falls vacant, and a new Member of Parliament is elected.
