Adjournment of the House

There is no set time for concluding the business in the House of Commons, and consequently, an Adjournment of the House is requested by an MP to terminate the day's proceedings. If passed, the orders of the day are processed, and then the day's proceedings are brought to a close.

The House is also adjourned for several holiday periods during the session.
