Parliament

Also known as Legislature.

The UK Parliament is made up of three constituent parts - the Crown, the House of Lords and the House of Commons. Its name derives from the French word 'parler', which means to talk.

New laws are debated and agreed in Parliament, and because of this role, it is often referred to as the 'Legislature'.
