Third Reading

This term is used to describe one of the stages that legislation goes through before it becomes law. The Bill is debated one last time in its amended form, offering a final opportunity to vote on the whole of a Bill.

After third reading in the Chamber in which the Bill was first introduced, the Bill then moves to first reading in the other Chamber.
