Woolsack

This is the seat of the Lord Chancellor in the House of Lords, and its tradition dates back to the reign of Edward III, when the wool trade was one of the most important parts of the economy. A seat stuffed with wool was a symbol of wealth.

It is now filled with wool from around the Commonwealth to signify unity.
