Role:

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) promotes the economic contribution and educational benefits of the arts, media, sport and our national heritage.

It works closely with the Arts Council, the Film Council and English Heritage. It also supports museums, galleries and libraries and develops government strategies on sport in schools and participation in international sporting events.
