Role:

The Ministry replaces the Department for Constitutional Affairs. It is responsible for upholding rights, justice and democracy. Its objectives are to:

• ensure people's rights and responsibilities,
• provide effective and accessible justice for all,
• increase democratic freedoms by modernising the law and the constitution.
