House of Lords Public Gallery
The Public Gallery in the House of Lords is open to the public when the House is sitting, which is usually as follows:
| Day | Time |
|---|---|
| Monday | 2.30 pm - 10.00 pm |
| Tuesday | 2.30 pm - 10.00 pm |
| Wednesday | 2.30 pm - 10.00 pm |
| Thursday | 11.00 am - 7.30 pm |
| Friday (occasional) | 11.00 am - 3.30 pm |
The House of Lords does not usually sit during the weeks around Christmas, Easter, half terms and summer, and the Public Gallery will be closed at these times.
Timings
On Monday to Thursday, the first 40 minutes of the session are devoted to Question Time. The House does not sit every Friday, so you should check before making any arrangements to visit on this day.
Obtaining Entry
There is a queuing system to gain entry to the House of Lords - this starts at the St Stephen's entrance, along with the queue for the House of Commons. The Lords' queue is usually shorter; however, it may not always be possible to gain entry for Question Time.
